My Home Town

A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

Look at this old wooden sign we found. As you can see, this was in 1990. I don't think the sign still exists. My granddaughter didn't want me to use it. She thought you all would think we really are hillbillies. Well?????

This is High Street, downtown Morgantown. I marched many times down this street, first with Morgantown Jr. High School Band, then Morgantown High School Band. As you can see, we have tree-lined streets also. Must be a small town thing, although Morgantown has grown so much since we left many years ago.

Yep, here it is...the school where Don Knotts and I attended high school...but of course, not at the same time. (sigh!).

Morgantown High School

Morgantown is probably best known for being the home of the West Virginia University.

West Virginia University

This is a front view of the administration building.

And this is a back view of the administration building. Doesn't it look neat?

Now that the town has grown so much, it has a tram for the university students.

I think it's time for us to take a ride just outside of Morgantown and visit one of the most beautiful state forests in the country.

It took us a while to get to the overlook. We did it the hard way, then found out there is a really nice path that leads right to it. DUH!

This is one side of the overlook.

And this is the other.

Let's head back to the gift shop.

Shhhh, one of nature's little wildlife creatures.

Let's not disturb him.

Oh look, some more wildlife creatures.

(Giggle) Silly me...those aren't nature's creatures. They're my little creatures called grandchildren. That would be Jennifer and Lucas.
